What makes our studio different?

We have always wondered how to express the uniqueness of our studio. Well, last week Teresa walked into our studio to check out the studio. Teresa was visiting from out of town and wanted to attend Yoga classes while she was down in Doral, and she chose our studio. She ended up attending 3 days in a row. On her last day, which was a Thursday, she was sad that we didn't have any classes on Fridays (maybe we will soon).

She had this to say: "I have been practicing Yoga for 11 years now, but I have learned so much in just 3 days. I have learned how to correctly practice Pranayama (breathing exercises), how to get in and out of asanas (postures) correctly and safely, and stretch just enough so I don't hurt myself. Being a former dancer, I have always overstretched and injured myself, and got in and out of asanas too quickly without paying too much attention to proper alignment. I learned that I was doing many things incorrectly and developed bad habits. With proper guidance, I was able to get into Kakasana (the Crow) almost effortlessly while in the past I would just rough it out! I mostly practice Hot Yoga and Power Yoga, so this was very different for me. It was almost therapeutic. I really enjoyed your classes and will drop in any time we are back in Doral."

That almost sums it up! Thank you Teresa for shedding more light on our endeavors and we will also miss having such a wonderful and graceful Yoga practitioner in our classes. When we hear positive feedback, it reassures us to know that we are on the right path. The approach for practicing Yoga is just as important as the practice itself. Paying attention to safety, proper alignment, and proper technique not only prevents injuries, but also builds a good foundation as we advance in our practice of Yoga. If we form bad habits and perform incorrectly, it is more difficult to get rid of the bad habits. So, it is best to practice with good form and build a good foundation. We strive to provide that approach in every class we teach. It is this approach that really makes us different.
